Instill The Gift of Giving In Your Child

At church on Sunday, each of my children chose an angel from the Angel Tree.  Each angel represented a child whose family  needed help with their kids’ Christmas shopping.  We talked to our kids about how sad it would make us feel if we couldn’t exchange Christmas gifts at our house.  They were excited about being able to help another child have a gift to open on Christmas. I have seen these Angel Trees in Walmart, at the mall and at church.  Get your kids involved.  It will be a great family project.  Sometimes all our kids can think of is what gifts they want to get. Maybe this Christmas, we could get them to think about the importance of giving.  We know, as parents, that giving, can be more rewarding than receiving!
