Seven Layer Magic Cookie Bars
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk (Not evaporated milk)
1 cup (6 oz) Butterscotch Flavored Chips
1 cup (6 oz) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 1/3 sweetened coconut flakes (optional)
1 cup chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 350 (325 for glass dish) In 13 X 9 inch baking pan, melt butter in oven. Sprinkle crumbs over butter, pour Sweetened Condensed Milk evenly on top of crumbs. Top with remaining ingredients in order listed and press down with a fork. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool, cut into squares and store in a tightly covered container at room temperature.
Makes 24 to 36 bars.
This was a recipe that was given to me by a friend many years ago, while posting it on my site, I came across this same recipe on the Better Home & Gardens site. Now I know my friend’s secret and where all her “creative” ideas came from!
