3 Ways To Spend Less On Cereal

Check out the following money saving post that was sent in from a fellow coupon user.

Having kids can be very expensive, but there are ways you can reduce the amount of money you spend each month.  One simple way to save is on groceries.   I like to find foods that will fill my kids up, provide nutrition, but also do not cost too much.  Foods like oatmeal and cereal are great for breakfast, but there are ways to save even more on foods that are already affordable.

  1. Buy during sales and buy in bulk – This is my favorite way to save, I always check the weekly store fliers for sales, sometimes cereal will be on sale for up to 50% off.  When this happens I make a note to stock up on the cereal that we always eat.
  2. Don’t eat it all at once – I try to space out the amount of cereal we eat so that I never have to pay full price.  It usually takes about a month or so before another brand goes on sale.  If you time it right you can always stock up during sales.
  3. Use coupons to get a double whammy discount – My favorite thing to do is use a coupon during a sale.  Last month I found Cheerios for $2 a box.  I used a $1 off coupon (when you buy two boxes) to buy two boxes of Cheerios for $3! With two boxes of cereal I can provide breakfast for a week for only $3, now that’s what I call frugal 😀
