Have You Shopped For A New Door Lately?

How long has it been since you’ve replaced a door in your home?  We bought a new back door last year and it made a big difference!  The former home owners painted the door to hide the rust in order to fix it just enough to get it sold.  We painted it one more time, but their dog had really scratched up the glass on the door  and it was time to get a new one.  The new door made such a big difference on the appearance of my kitchen and back porch.  We went from clear glass to the textured/patterned glass where the neighbors can’t look in and I LOVE it!  Now I don’t have to worry about people looking in our back door anymore while I am getting ready to head out to the pool.

As for the front door, we have it re-stained every year and it still looks great, but when it is time for a new door, I want to choose a new design.  My present door has multiple small patterned glass windows that fit together to form a design.  It is very pretty, but two of the small patterned glass “windows” have had to be replaced at $50 each, so I’d rather swap to something less delicate that can stand up to the wear and tear that comes with raising two boys.

There are many door options out there, start browsing sites in order to find the perfect door for your home.  Once you install a new door, hopefully it will be many years to come before you have to do it again, so get one that you really like, not just one that you “settle” for because you are tired of door hunting.  One site I have found to be helpful is www.doors4home.com.  If you have questions, feel free to ask them and they can point you in the right direction.
