Pillsbury Baguette Chips #MyBlogSpark

MyBlogSpark contacted me to see if I’d be interested in trying out Pillsbury® Baguette Chips.  I thought these chips might be a great snack food for my family this Summer, so I agreed to test out their Italian Cheese & Herb and Cheddar Sun-dried Tomato baguette chips.  My favorite flavor was the Italian Cheese & Herb chips.  They are great added to your salad in replace of the croutons or for a small on the go snack.  My kids are pretty picky and because they didn’t look like regular chips, they were slow to try them.  Unfortunately, my kids associated these baguette chips with the “hard bread bites” in the Chex mix that they always pull out before eating, so no baguette chips for them.

I thought they would be a great snack to take to the pool.  The kids like to take chips, but they are thin and tend to get soggy when wet.  Since the baguette chips are much thicker, they will stay firm and not get soggy when eaten with wet hands.  These chips also work well for me since I like to watch my weight by counting Weight Watchers points.  This Pillsbury snack has 130 calories per serving which is approximately 21 baguette chips.  It is very easy to practice portion control by counting out 21 chips and placing them in snack bags.  This tells me exactly how many points I am eating and makes it easy to grab a quick portioned snack.

How would you use these chips:  in soup, to add crunch to your salad or for a quick snack?

What other baguette flavor would you like to see Pillsbury offer?
