Travis Took His Dad To The Houston Astros Game

My family loves to watch the Houston Astros play ball at Minute Maid Park.  The roof opens and sometimes they shoot off fireworks after their games.  We love to eat the stadium food and root on the Astros throughout the game.  My oldest son made the principal’s list this year for receiving all A’s on his report card.   The Houston Astros gave everyone on the principal’s list two free seats to one of their games and my son was thrilled.  There were four dates he could choose from and he chose the one closest to Father’s Day.  He was so proud of himself for receiving these tickets and told his dad that he’d like to take him to the game for his Father’s Day gift.

The game was starting around 7 pm on a weeknight, so my son and I met my husband for lunch and my son spent the rest of the day with his dad at work.  Travis loves to visit his dad’s work and took a book along to read until it was time to leave for the game.  They were able to get to the stadium early and browse through the shops and hit the concessions before the game got started. While in one of the shops, Travis found Astros pillow pets and wanted to bring one home for his younger brother.  Bobby loves stuffed animals, but I think he wants them for his dog Dakota and not for himself.  He is 6 and has nothing to do with the stuffed animals once they come home, but Dakota, she loves anything with stuffing!  I put Bobby’s nice stuffed animals in his room and minutes later, Dakota is running downstairs with a stuffed animal in her mouth.  She doesn’t “shred” them, she just loves them.

Since Travis knows what Bobby is up to, the pillow pet stayed in the store and Bobby and Dakota will have to add it to their wishlists!  Travis and his dad had a great time at the game and can’t wait until football season so they can watch the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium.
