Will You Be Watching The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey?

I received a run down today on a movie that I can’t wait to see.  Have you seen the previews of The Hobbit:  An Unexpected Journey?  Were you a fan of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy?  I live in a household full of boys and they can’t wait to watch The Hobbit.  I think we may have to get to the theaters to see this one instead of waiting to rent it when it comes out on video.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
With the Lord of the Rings trilogy bringing in a massive $2.924 billion and quickly becoming one of the best loved movie series in modern history, a film adaptation of the literary prequel, The Hobbit seemed like a natural progression for the franchise.
The story sticks fairly closely to the book and brings the viewer back to the very beginning, to the shire with the character that started it all, Bilbo Baggins.  The protagonist is played by Martin Freeman, star of the cult classic movie Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (2005) and rom-com Love Actually (2003).

The Hobbit film teams up with a squad of thirteen dwarfs as he is sent on a quest by the great wizard Gandalf the Grey to the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.  The kingdom is currently under siege by the great dragon Smaug and Bilbo is on a mission to win it back.  Unsurprisingly his path is thwart with danger as he and his team are constantly under attack  from creatures resident only in the mind of J. R. R. Tolkien and brought to life by Academy Award winning director Peter Jackson.
Other stars include Sir Ian Mckellen as the well-loved wizard Gandalf, Scottish Comedian Billy Connolly CBE as the great dwarf warrior Dain Ironfoot and Elijah Wood returning as Frodo Baggins, not to mention Andy Serkis as the ring bearing, schizophrenic being Gollum/Smeagol.
