Earlier this week, I posted two recipes, one for orange sherbert punch and the other for cookies. Can you tell what is on my mind? I am trying SO hard to kick this over eating habit that I picked up over the holidays and it is so hard to cut down your food consumption once you start treating yourself on a daily basis!
Yesterday I hopped on the elliptical, worked on my new suspension training gear and watched what I ate. This morning I had lost 2 pounds, so I know what I have to do, it is just making myself do it. I’ve been working with a personal trainer and learned how to use the suspension gear, but my 6 year old saw me pull it out for the first time and decided he’d create a few new exercises for me. Check them out:
He said this was the hardest and had me do 10 of these, which was no problem BUT……..
He wanted me to do 30 of these and this was definitely a problem! I made it to thirty with him laughing with each grunt and moan I made after I hit number 20. Working out with him was not your ordinary workout, but it was a lot of fun! Do you ever exercise with your kids? My son loved it and wants to put my suspension gear in his bedroom. I told him that he was welcome to use it any time, but it had to stay in my room and not find a new home in his. Can you see him swinging right through the bedroom door on that if he was allowed to use that alone?
This looks like so much fun! I think for parents (like me) who use “Ohh, but I have to take care of the kids” as an excuse for not exercising, it’s a great excuse-shatterer!
Making time to exercise is a problem, but when the kids urge you to do it with them, it makes it easier to find time to get it done.
