Review: The Infinity Circle Family Necklace

Review by Diane

I was recently given the opportunity to review a fabulous piece of jewelry from a talented designer named Michelle Ceccato. To me, the right piece of jewelry does more than just dress up my wardrobe. Be it a ring, bracelet, necklace, or pair of earrings, I choose my jewelry as a reflection of who I am and a statement of how I feel. Some days I find myself reaching for the chunky, turquoise necklace and flower thumb ring I picked up in New Mexico. Other days, I veer towards my mother’s pearls and dainty drop earrings that my husband gave me for our first anniversary. So when I saw the Infinity Circle Family Necklace that Michelle offers through her shop, Serendipity Handcrafted Jewelry, I was intrigued and excited to find another special piece I could add to my repertoire.

The infinity circle formed from 16-gauge sterling silver wire is soldered and tumbled for strength and smoothness. Personalization and sentimentality come in the form of the individual Swarovski birthstone crystals that Michelle wire wraps with 26-gauge sterling silver. The necklace comes in two sizes to accommodate everyone from the new mother just starting her family to the seasoned grandmother with a brood of grandchildren. The small size, which is what I chose for my review, can hold up to eight birthstones; The large version, which is also called the “Grandmother’s Necklace”, has room for up to 25 birthstones. Both necklaces are available in either an 18” or 22” length .

One of the neat things about my little family is that three out of the four of us (my two sons and myself) have July birthdays, all within days of each other. My one-of-a-kind hubby is a November baby and a Scorpio, which is definitely indicative of his personality! I was really excited to have Michelle put together my Family Necklace with three ruby crystals and one topaz as I thought the fiery reds and orange were a perfect representation of our feisty crew.

I could not have been more pleased when I received the necklace a few short weeks after I placed my order with Michelle. It is truly a piece of simplistic beauty with a timeless design that I can pass down to my boys for when they (hopefully!) have daughters of their own one day. I’ve worn the necklace on multiple occasions, and each time I’ve gotten the nicest compliments and opportunities to explain the significance of the pendant. I was also pleasantly surprised at how affordable the necklace is, especially in light of the quality of materials used and handcrafting done by Michelle. These pieces sell for $40 for the small version and $48 for the large version and include the silver chain, infinity pendant, three birthstones, and a polishing cloth in the price. Any additional birthstones sell for $2 apiece. Right now, you can actually get a 10% discount by using the coupon code “FAVORITE” at checkout. The Infinity Circle Family Necklace is just one of many beautiful and unique pieces offered through Serendipity. I’m sure I’ll be browsing through the online store for gift ideas for the other members of my family soon!
