Recipe For Breakfast On The Run!

blenderHow many mornings do you skip breakfast each week?  If your household is anything like mine, that window of time between the alarm going off and getting everyone out the door seems to grow smaller every day.  Most mornings I’m lucky to get a cup of coffee before 10 a.m., let alone any semblance of a breakfast.  You know what they say about breakfast being the most important meal of the day?  Come lunchtime when my stomach is growling, I can totally see why!  To help quell my tummy tiger and give me the energy I need to face the rest of the day, I recently started using these great recipes for “minute milk shakes” that I can easily make and take with me for a healthy and fulfilling breakfast on the run.  For all shake recipes, simply blend ingredients on high speed for 5-10 seconds.

Strawberry-Pineapple Delight

1 C. milk

1 envelope (1.22 oz.) strawberry-flavored instant breakfast drink

1/4 C. crushed pineapple

Oh Baby! Fruit & Cream Shake

1 C. milk

1 envelope (1.22-oz.) vanilla-flavored instant breakfast drink

1 jar (4 3/4-oz.) pureed fruit (baby food) or 6 canned apricot halves

Chocolate Covered Banana Dream

1 C. milk

1 envelope (1.22-oz.) chocolate-flavored instant breakfast drink

1 sm. banana, cut up

Orange Eggnog

1 C. milk

1/4 C. frozen orange juice concentrate (thawed)

1 egg

1 Tbs. sugar

By all means, don’t spill these shakes, but if you do, here is a great resource for coping with your mess.
