Mom Blog Review: Promax Protein Bars

Disclosure:  Promax Nutrition sent me a bundle of protein bars to use in facilitating my review.  All opinions are 100% my own.

Do you try different protein bars?  Do you eat protein bars throughout the day?  I have been testing out different types of protein bars, looking for the perfect ones to go along with my diet.  ProMax Nutrition sent me an assorted box of Promax Fit ‘n Crisp, Promax Pro and PromaxLS for my son and I to test out.  He plays basketball and trains throughout the day and needs the extra protein so we are always on the lookout for new bars to keep on hand for him.

  • The Fit ‘n Crisp bars are high protein, gluten-free and vegetarian.  They do not contain any artificial sweeteners or colors, high fructose corn syrup, maltitol or gelatin.
  • The Promax Pro Series bars are protein-dense and offer lower sugar content and carbohydrates.  They are also gluten-free, sweetened with Stevia, vegetarian and do not contain any artificial sweeteners or preservatives.  This is the perfect bar for those who are serious about bodybuilding and weight lifting.
  • The PromaxLS bars are all natural, high protein, great source of fiber and offer an overall lower sugar content.  These bars are also gluten-free, kosher, vegetarian, and do not contain any artificial sweeteners.  As far as a sugar comparison, these bars contain 9 grams of sugar compared to other energy bar levels that can range from 15 – 21 grams of sugar per bar.

Out of the whole box, these were  my personal favorites.  They were low in calories and perfect for my diet.  I really liked the Fit ‘n Crisp Vanilla Marshmallow bars and checked out their store locator so I could find them locally.  I also liked the PromaxLS (lower sugar) because of the nutritional content.  They tasted great and were large in size for fewer calories.

As for the other bars, my son is having a great time testing one out each day.  The flavors are good and they pack the calories that my son needs for all his workouts.  I could also eat these bars, but I would need to cut them in half because they are very big and carry too many calories for me to eat in one sitting and remain on my diet.  One great feature of the Promax bars is their ability to harden back up if left in the heat.  I left a few bars in my van and they melted on me.  I brought them in the house and the next day they were solid again.  That is great to know because I like to keep snacks on hand in my van and a lot of times, I just lose the “meltable” foods if I forget to bring them inside the house.

Do you keep low fat snacks in your car?  Just a few minutes to get prepared can keep you out of the high fat drive thru windows when you are on the go and need something to eat while on the go.
