5 Tips: Save on your Summer Vacation

Travis sand

This Summer we found a great hotel with reasonable rates, beach access and free breakfast.

While it’s great to get away in the height of summer, summer breaks can be expensive.  Make your family holidays more affordable with a look at these five ways to save!

1 – Sign up to newsletters

Get yourself on the mailing lists of vacation companies and resorts that you’re interested in visiting, so that you get sent details of deals and special offers.  Some companies will contact you by through the mail, others by email, and some both.  It’s a great way to hear about the latest and best offers available – with some deals being exclusive.

2 – Look out for vouchers / coupons

Keep your eyes peeled for vouchers / coupons when you’re in the supermarket, reading a magazine or newspaper or browsing online.  You can find voucher or coupon deals on everything from cereal boxes to mail fliers – with Cushelle currently offering £20 off breaks at Butlins holiday parks which is great for our UK friends.

3 – Enter competitions

It might be a long shot but it’s worth entering any competitions that you come across for free holidays.  Cushelle is running one at the moment for three lucky families to win a break at the new Wave Hotel at Butlins Bognor Regis – all it takes is a quick few clicks online to enter and you could be a winner!

4 – Be flexible with dates

If you can be flexible with your dates it’s worthwhile spending time comparing the prices for different summer breaks.  Breaks in the middle of August, for example, can be the most expensive, but the cost can also depend on demand and the accommodation chosen.  Play with the online search facility to find the best prices.

5 – Go ‘all-inclusive’

Once you’ve paid for your vacation you might think you’re home and dry.  In reality, you often have spending money to think about.  Why not look at ‘all-inclusive’ holidays where activities and entertainment are included?  If you are interested in vacationing in the UK, a great spot to start would be Butlins and Center Parcs where they offer free swimming,  free funfair rides and a full program of fun activities at no extra cost.  I have always wanted to visit the UK and plan on it when my children are older.  Have you been able to travel abroad?

It is possible to have a fantastic family vacation without breaking the bank.  With these five ways to save, you should be on your way to having a fantastic vacation that won’t leave you bummed about the cost.
