Jello Pie Recipe: Low Calorie Dessert

The holidays are just around the corner and I love all the desserts that come along with them.  For the last few weeks I have been on a weight loss roll and I don’t want to gain the weight back because of my love for holiday sweets.  Do you have this issue around the holidays? I have been searching for a low calorie pie for my Thanksgiving table and Mommy Edition shared this one with me.  Check it out!

Jello Pie

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup boiling water
  • 1 small package of jello  (4 serving size box flavor of your choice)
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 eight ounce tub of Cool Whip (I use light or fat free)
  • 1 six ounce size graham cracker pie crust

Directions:

Stir your boiling water with the jello until it is dissolved.  Add 1/2 cup cold water to the mixture.  Next stir in the cool whip until smooth.  Refrigerate for 10 minutes and spoon onto the pie crust and wait 4 hours or overnight until firm.  Cooling overnight is always the best policy, so try to find time to make this pie ahead of time so it will have time to completely set up before being served.

*Check to see if your graham cracker pie crust require baking before filling it with the jello mixture.
