I have been working on losing weight and building endurance by counting Weight Watchers points and attending weekly fitness classes five days a week. I have dropped 3 pants sizes since the end of September and have also gained muscle and toned up a little. Yesterday during my cardio challenge fitness class, we were all standing on top of our steps in the gym and the lady next to me asked if I had lost a lot of weight. That just made my day! I told her that yes I had. She told me that she had seen a post on Facebook the day before that was written by someone who had recently lost a lot of weight. The lady had told of her weight loss and was asking people to ask someone if they had lost weight the next time they saw a person who they knew had lost weight. This is such a great idea, that of course, I had to write about it!
Losing weight this time of year is very hard. First came Thanksgiving and all the desserts and now Christmas. If you are a sweet tooth like me, I’m sure you understand. I am not going to “give up” my holiday sweets, I have just been holding off on making them. It is a lot easier to take off quickly gained weight than it is to take off weight that has been building and piling on over an extended period of time. I used to start my “holiday eating” right after Thanksgiving and would continue my “binge” through Jan. 1 but this year I have been very strict with myself. I only gained 2 pounds over Thanksgiving Break, but I had it off again within 4 days. If you need a good home workout or one to carry along with you while on vacation, make sure to check out my previous post, “Daily Home Workout.”
I have made one batch of my favorite peanut butter fudge so far and it WAS good! It is about time for me to begin to make my holiday favorites for the family, but I am watching my portions and will be sure to continue to exercise 5 days a week.
SO, the next time you see someone that has lost weight, be sure and tell them.
