How To Link Facebook And Twitter Accounts

Save time posting on both Facebook and Twitter by linking your Twitter account to your Facebook account.  Once this is done, each time you post on Facebook, you will also be posting on Twitter without needing to visit Twitter or another “pre-scheduling” site like, Hootesuite or TweetDeck to do so.  Pre-scheduling sites are great, but you will get better exposure on Facebook if you post directly on Facebook instead of using a third party scheduling service.

I love to post on my social networks, but face it, there just isn’t enough time of the day to cover all of them, so why not connect them when you can.

In order to connect your Facebook Account to your Twitter account take the following steps:

  1. Go to your Facebook account and click the “gear” symbol which is found at the top right of your Facebook account.  On my page I see:  Home, Bobbie, Lock Symbol and the Gear Symbol.
  2. You should see a drop down menu that falls from the “gear” sybol.
  3. You can to select “account settings” from the drop down.
  4. From account settings, you will go to the left side of the screen and select “Followers.”
  5. Once you are on the “Followers” screen, you will see an option to link up your Twitter account.

This process is very easily done and should start working instantly.  Now go send out a Facebook post and test it out.  You can also schedule your Facebook posts to send out at different times of the day and your Facebook “shout outs” will also post to your Twitter account once they go live on your Facebook.  If you aren’t familiar with Facebook scheduling, I will be posting about this soon, so keep an eye out so you don’t miss it.
