How To Schedule Posts On Facebook

If you aren’t familiar with Facebook scheduling, it is also very easy to set up.  Face it, if you are awake at 2 a.m. and want to send something out on Facebook, your friends may not be awake to see your message.  In this case, you can schedule it for 7 or 8 a.m. in order for them to see it flow through their feed. In order to pre-schedule on your Facebook page, you need to take the following steps: This must be done on your Facebook page, it cannot be done on a personal Facebook account.  For example, I cannot pre-schdule on Bobbie Michael’s FB, only on my BlogWithMom’s page.

  1. Write a post, just as if you were getting ready to send it out now.
  2. Click the first icon below your text.  It will look like a small clock.
  3. From here, select the date and add the time.
  4. Hit “schedule” and you will receive a message with a similar message:  “Your post will be published on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 1:00pm CST. To change or cancel the post, go to your Page Activity Log.”
  5. Go try it, so simple, you’d wish you’d found about this earlier.

Wasn’t that easy?  How much time could you save by pre-scheduling through Facebook?

If you are not real big on Facebook and would rather spend your time on Twitter, you can also set this up through your Twitter account.  Then every time you posted on Twitter, it would also be posted to your Facebook.  Just keep in mind, Facebook likes you to schedule posts directly through them, so Facebook posts that are scheduled through Twitter may not be seen by as many people on your FB account  than if you were to schedule them directly through FB.  There are several sites where you can pre-schedule on Twitter.  Here are a few that I have personally used:  Tweetdeck, Hootesuite and LaterBro, but there are many of these sites out there.  You just have to find the one that you prefer to use.

Whichever scheduling method that you use will save you time.  If you decide to schedule through Facebook, make sure to link your Twitter account to your Facebook account so your posts will also be shared on Twitter once they go live.
