If you are answered yes to both of the questions above, you might need my help. Twitter can be a tough tool to use in order to get reader interaction, especially for business owners, but it is VERY effective when used properly. A lot of readers will skim over a tweet and they might even ‘favorite’ it with that cute little star. However, you want more! You want interaction and conversation! You want to know that others are actually interested in your business, and that they want to know more! There are a few things you can do to boost your reader interaction with your Twitter feed.
You obviously want to advertise your Twitter profile on your business website so others can click on it and follow you. Something else you should do is follow your readers! This makes them feel important, and they will head over to your profile to read your tweets and learn more about your business. When posting a tweet, encourage conversation! Ask a question, take a poll, or share a picture. Another tip is to use hashtags! Yes, they seem funny and to some they can be annoying, but that’s how fellow ‘tweeters’ find content they are interested in! A simple sentence with a hashtag can bring your one tweet thousands of views, therefore bringing in more interaction!
I believe the most important tip is to use someone’s username if they tweet to you. Make your tweet to them more personal and let them know that you are listening! Those are just a few small changes that you can make and I can guarantee they will bring you more interaction! Happy tweeting!
Thank-you for the tips! My sister and I are just starting out in the world of blogging. Not so much as a business, yet! More of a place to connect with other moms and share what we do, we are very different, with different parenting styles. We are both posting on twitter under @imhereshesthere and our FB page. Twitter seems by far harder to connect. Thanks for this article! #melmar
