Easy After-School Snacks

School is starting back, and my kids are always hungry after school.  They come in and want a snack before doing their homework.  Having something they like yet also easy to find ingredients, I put together some after school snacks that are easy and fun to make.  Hope you enjoy!

Fruit Dip

  •  1 c. low fat sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • sprinkle of cinnamon sugar

1. Mix your sour cream, brown sugar, and lime juice until smooth.

2.Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

Dip your fruit in and enjoy!

 

Caramel Popcorn

  •  10-12 c. popped popcorn
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 c. pecans
  • pinch of salt

 

1. Melt 1/3 c. of butter and 1 tablespoon honey; add in a pinch of salt.

2. Mix it up with the popped popcorn and 1 c. pecans.

3.Spread on parchment-lined baking sheet

4.bake at 325* for 15 minutes

5. When done mix it up again

6.Let it cool

 

Cinnamon Sugar Sticks

  •  1/2 c. softened cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar
  • Refrigerated bread stick dough
  • butter

 

1. beat 1/2 c. softened cream cheese with your cinnamon sugar until it’s smooth.

2.Spread it onto the bread stick dough

3.Twist and stretch your bread into 12. in strips

4. bake as dough label says

5. When done, garnish with melted butter

 

Apple Moons

  •  Apple; sliced into crescents
  • Peanut Butter
  • Toppings (granola, chocolate chips, sprinkles etc)

 

1. Slice your apples into crescents

2. put peanut butter on both sides of each slice

3. dip the apple sides into your topping.

 

Crackerwhich

  •  Saltine Crackers
  • Peanut Butter
  • Strawberries or bananas (sliced into thin slivers)
  • honey

 

1. Spread peanut butter onto your crackers

2. top with sliced fruit and drizzled honey

3. Add second cracker to creat sandwich
