Do you enjoy using your crockpot?  Are you a fan of chocolate cake?  If you said yes to both, then you’ve got to try this Crockpot Chocolate Cake Recipe!

Crockpot Chocolate Cake Recipe

You will need:

  • 1 box chocolate mix (I usually use devils food)
  • 1 {3.4 oz} box instant chocolate pudding
  • 4 eggs
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 1 or 2 cups chocolate chips (The kids love it with 2 cups, but feel free to go lite on the chocolate and use as little as 1 cup instead.)

Instructions:

Mix all ingredients together and pour your mixture in a greased or oil sprayed crockpot.
Cover your crockpot and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 8 hours.  If you are available to watch this cake as it cooks, you can also use the automatic setting.

All crockpots are a little different so make sure the cake is done before you turn off your crockpot.  You will be able to see if it is done by looking at the middle of the cake.  It will look similar to what you see when you bake a cake.
This Crockpot Chocolate Cake recipe makes a really moist cake.  This dessert is great served with ice cream or even topped with whipped cream.

One of my friends is expecting and is constantly craving sweets.   She is always online searching for tips for surviving pregnancy and easy crockpot recipes so I sent this recipe over to her and she is in heaven.  This week she also found Mommy Edition where I had mentioned it in an earlier post and now she has her reading and her sweets lined up for the week!

Do you have any crockpot recipe favorites? Have you ever cooked any desserts in your crockpot?
