DIY Mask for Oily Skin

If you are like me, you have probably experienced oily skin at least once in your life so far.  If so, you know exactly how frustrating it can be to control the oily feel and the shine that comes with it.  With this DIY, you can knock out oily skin and feel better almost immediately!

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of brewer’s yeast
  • 1/3 cup of yogurt (or amount as needed, but 1/3 is a great recommended amount)

This inexpensive homemade mask leaves your skin feeling fresh and revitalized, just as a $30 salon mask treatment would. I love saving money and getting the same results!

Clean your face thoroughly with any natural cleanser before starting.  In a small bowl, mix the brewer’s yeast with the yogurt to make a thin paste. Pat this mixture onto the oily areas of your face.  Allow the mask to dry for fifteen to twenty minutes.

Once the timer goes off, rinse your face off with warm water.  Follow that with a splash of cool water and gently pat your face dry.  You do not want to rub it because you could spread any leftover dirt or oils on to the rest of your face. Patting your face after washing it is always recommended.

Brewer’s Yeast tends to come in a larger packaging, so this is the perfect recipe to create weekly since you will have plenty of leftover ingredients each time!  Plus, you can enjoy a nice cup of yogurt with granola while waiting for the mask to dry.  Granola is great for your complexion!  Personally, I would much rather make a mask at home for less than $10 (and that will stretch for weeks!) than pay a one-time payment of $30 or more each time I want a spa day.
