Mason Jar Greeting Card Craft

PatrioticMasonJars-12

Do you any old greeting cards lying around and you do not know what to do with them?  How about some canning jars and lids?  If so, I have a great craft for you!!

You will need:

  • Scissors
  • Canning jars and lids
  • Greeting cards

As you can see, this craft does not require many supplies so it does not require much time either!  First, take your greeting card and trace the inner lid of the canning jar on to the focal point.  Cut your circle out and place it inside of the lid and screw the lid on to the canning jar.  You now have a jar with a homemade gift tag!  You can make these for all occasions if you have the right greeting cards!

What do you plan on putting in your jar?  A popular jar gift is hot cocoa mix.  You can find ingredients at your local dollar store.  Just pick up a box of hot cocoa packets, some mini marshmallows and some peppermints.  Pour the hot chocolate mix into the jar with some mini marshmallows.  Crush the peppermints up and pour it into the mix as well.  You can write a little note on your homemade jar gift tag and you have a quick and easy gift!  These are great for teachers around the holidays.

You can also look up ‘cake in a jar’ recipes and send them as gift.  Those stay fresh in the jar so you can actually mail them if need be!  These are great for care packages if you know anyone who is deployed since they can travel thousands of miles and still taste great once they are opened!

Have you ever sent a jar gift to someone?  If so, what was it?  Share your ideas in the comment section below!
