Are you planning on traveling by plane soon? If so, you need to remember to always pack important items in your carry-on bag instead of packing them in your suitcase. For example: necessary medications, contact lens, glasses, etc.
My dad and stepmom just came to visit by plane and when they arrived, they found out that their suitcase didn’t make their flight. The flight was full, so a few of the passenger’s suitcases had to be held back for a later flight. The airport told us that the bag would arrive later that night and their courier service would deliver it to our house. At 11 p.m. that night, we were still waiting for their bag and finally at 1:30 a.m. their bag was delivered. Thankfully they had packed their medication in their carry-on bag, but they didn’t have any clean clothes or toiletries for a shower before bed.
After this experience, I think it would be a great idea to pack as many carry-on bags as possible. If you are going for a short trip and could make it without having to pack a full size suitcase that would be perfect. Packing carry-on bags would keep you from needing to wait at the luggage area for your bags and would also ensure that your luggage wouldn’t be lost or delayed in transit. The last time the kids and I traveled by plane, we all carried two carry-on bags each and saved ourselves the luggage fee that was going to come along with bringing a full size suitcase. Each airline has their own policies so be sure and read the policies from your chosen airline before your travel date.
Have you ever had a piece of luggage lost while traveling? If so, was your luggage retrieved within a reasonable amount of time?
