Do you like Blackberry Cobbler? Are you discouraged from making it sometimes due to the time it takes to put together? You’re in luck! This Blackberry Cobbler recipe is great if you need a dessert in a hurry.
Preparation:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees before getting started.
Place 4 cups of blackberries in a lightly greased 8 inch baking dish and sprinkle the berries with 1 Tbsp lemon juice.
Stir together the following in a medium bowl until mixture resembles course meal:
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
When this mixture is ready, it is time to sprinkle it over the blackberries.
Drizzle 6 Tbsp melted butter over the topping you just added, then it’s ready for the oven.
Bake this easy blackberry cobbler at 375 degrees for approximately 35 minutes or until lightly browned and bubbly. Baking times can vary for different oven makes/models.
This easy blackberry cobbler is great alone or with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream on top.
Where do you get your blackberries? Picking them in the wild or at a blackberry patch can be fun for the kids, especially when they get to eat a dessert that was prepared for them with the blackberries that they helped pick. As a kid, we always went blackberry picking in the woods, being careful to watch for snakes and checking for chiggers and ticks. Then my dad started raising tame blackberries that are much safer and relaxing to pick. His berries from Anderson’s Berryland are huge and I find myself eating tons of them right in the patch.
