Are you looking for an easy recipe to help use up all of those apples you just got on sale?  Here is one for you!  I love love LOVE apple pie, so making these quick apple pie bites are perfect for my family and me.

You will need:

  • ¼ cup of packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice, and some additional apple pie spice for sprinkling on top of the apple pie bites
  • 3 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/3 cup of chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 small granny smith apple, cored and sliced into 8 slices
  • 1 can of Pillsbury 8 ounce crescent rolls (store brand will work just fine if you prefer that)
  • Parchment paper

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees and line a baking pan with your parchment paper.  In a small bowl, combine your apple pie spice and brown sugar and set it aside.  Try not to eat it just yet!  That stuff can be so tempting.

Melt your butter and then toss your apple slices in the melted butter and set them aside as well.  Open up your can of crescent rolls and place them on the parchment paper on your baking sheet.  Distribute your brown sugar mixture on each crescent roll triangle (evenly).  Next, place an apple slice on the wide part of each triangle and roll it up.

Brush each wrapped crescent roll with remaining butter and sprinkle your additional apple pie spice on them.  Bake these for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown.  Make sure you wait 5-10 minutes for them to cool off before serving.  Just typing out this recipe is making me so hungry!  I guess I will be making a trip to the grocery store today.  What is your favorite apple pie snack recipe?
