If you have children (yes, husbands DO count!), you know how difficult it can be to keep your home in a clean and working order. If you have just 10 extra minutes each morning, try and complete these simple cleaning tasks. You would be surprised at what a difference they make if you are able to do these every morning!
First, make all of the beds in the home. This only takes a few seconds, and it really opens a room up. A put-together bed makes a room look ten times cleaner, even if it is a wreck everywhere else. Trust me. Plus, once you have the biggest item in the room cleaned up it is a real motivator to finish the rest of the room once you have time.
Next, place all dirty clothing in the assigned hampers. If your family takes showers in the morning, it is likely that there are dirty clothes on the floor of your bathroom even after they leave the house. If that is the case, place the clothing in the hamper. Check all of the famous children hiding spots for dirty clothes as well: under the bed, in the closet, stuffed into a bookcase, etc.
The next task is to wash, dry and put away one load of laundry. Remember those dirty clothes you just cleaned up? Take a minute and throw some into the washer! While you are washing a load of laundry, clear the kitchen counters and wipe down the stovetop. The best way to prevent bugs is to keep the counters and stove clean.
While you are at it, clean the kitchen sink. Drains are a great place for bacteria and bugs to nestle down in, so make sure you wipe the sink down really nicely and throw some baking soda in the drain to get rid of anything that may be clinging to the wall of the drain.
If you have any time left, take out the kitchen trash and sweep the floor. At the end of the day, clean up the family room and play areas. If you are able to accomplish that each day (just a few minutes out of the day!) you will feel so much better and relieved that the biggest parts of your home are cleaned up a bit!
