I was given this box of ReusaWool Dryer Balls from TheWillowStore.com to use in facilitating my review. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
I have always wondered about dryer balls. I have seen where people have posted threads on Facebook about using these, but I had never looked into them. Lately I saw where people were adding a few drops of lavendar oil to their dryer balls to add fragrance to their clothing which grabbed my attention. I love the smell of the fabric softener but I don’t like the fact that it seems to shorten the life of my clothing so I seldom use it when doing laundy. My husband, on the other hand, definitely loves the fabric softner scent and flat socks it to the clothing when he washes. It’s nice to have that fresh smell, but again, it has shortened the life of our towels which turns me off.
While I was setting up the specifics of this review, I asked the Willow Store rep about adding essential oil to the dryer balls. She said that just 2 to 3 drops works great. That if you add too much oil that the fragrance can be overwhelming. I couldn’t wait to try these out. I had always wondered if the balls would make a beating noise in my dryer as my clothing dried.
Check out the size of these dryer balls. They are very soft and easily soaked up the drops of lavendar oil that I added to one of them. Once my dryer had a chance to warm up, I could smell the lavendar coming out of my laundry room and drifting into the kitchen. The box warned that I may need to check the load because the dryer time would be cut down since the dryer balls would aid in the dryer process. I did check my dryer before the drying time had expired but my dryer has a dryness sensor which told the dryer when to shut down the cycle. These ReusaWool Dryer Balls increase circulation as they tumble in your dryer which can definitely reduce the drying time. They are comprised of 100% wool and made in the USA. If you are looking for a natural laundry solution, be sure and check out TheWillowStore.com. These Dryer Balls are a great way to soften your clothing without using chemicals.
As for the answer to my question about the noise that would be heard from these balls beating around in my dryer….no noise whatsoever! As for using essential oils, that was absolutely my choice because I wanted to scent my clothing. There is definitely no need to use essential oils, I had just heard about it online and was too curious not to try it out for myself!
Check out the image above, as you can see, there’s nothing to using dryer balls, just throw them in the dryer with your wet laundry and turn your dryer on. Since I love this product so much, I am thrilled to say that TheWillowStore.com is offering a box of these dryer balls to one lucky BlogWithMom.com US winner, age 18 or above.
