My youngest LOVES to fish! After a long day at school, he loves to relax with a fishing pole in his hand. He has a friend that lives nearby and they fish about 3 – 4 times a week together, especially after a long day of testing, etc. Sometimes he comes home from school and says it was so stressful that he just needs to fish. I can completely understand that so I try to get him to the fishing hole as much as possible.
He does like to keep the large fish since he is saving up for a large fish fry, but he is also content to catch and release. When we go fishing with his buddy, we catch everything from catfish, trees, to turles and have a blast!
Here’s my step mom who also loves to fish! She and my dad just went on a fishing trip to Mississippi and she caught this three pound crappie shown above. I wish I could’ve been there, I know she was screaming the whole time she was pulling it in. For her, fishing isn’t about relieving stress, it’s about spending time with my dad doing something that he loves.
How long has it been since you’ve went fishing? Could fishing be a stress reliever for you? It’s nice to just sit by the water and enjoy the afternoon without all the hustle and bustle of being on the go all the time.
As for me, a trip to the gym or a run on the trail is my stress reliever, especially the body combat and kickboxing classes. How do you relieve stress?
