Well, the weather is HOT and the rain is finally slowing down! It is cloudy outside today; I think we will go to the park and enjoy the nature scenery. Do we still need to apply sunscreen even though it is cloudy? YES, WE DO! Did you know that you are most likely to get a sunburn on a cloudy day? This is because you cannot see the sun so you naturally assume you are not getting a burn or you can stay out longer without getting too red. However, that could not be more false.
I would recommend buying a facial moisturizer that has some SPF built in to it. That way, you are mostly protected if you spend some unexpected time outdoors no matter what the weather is like. If you do not protect your skin, you are prone to many things, including skin cancer. The symptoms for skin cancer do not show up right away, either. It could be years before you find out you have been suffering with the disease! This is why it is so important to wear that sunscreen and drink water in the Summer!
You should also carry a travel-size sunscreen bottle in your car if you can. If you can, stick it in your glove compartment. If you carry an emergency kit in your trunk, stick one in there too! You can never be too careful when it comes to your health and your skin. Sunscreen is a MUST at all times if you can swing it! I know it can be hard to remember to apply some, especially on those very busy days where you wonder how you will even breathe in between tasks, but add a reminder on your phone if you have to. Sunscreen can save your life – if that is not motivation, I do not know what is!
