Sand & Sun At Galveston Beach

Travis Bobby Ryan beach Galveston

Galveston Island is always a great getaway spot for our family.  It is close to home and makes you feel as if you’ve stepped right into vacation mode.  The beach, the wind, fun gift shops, great restaurants and more!  The cleanliness of the Galveston Beach water is nothing when compared to a Florida Beach, but Galveston is less then two hours away from home.  The boys love playing in the beach, dreaming about catching small sharks off the pier and just hanging out!  Above you’ll see two of them beginning to burry themselves and the other working to create a “sand throne>”

One year we bought this kite from one of the kite shops at Galveston Beach.  We didn’t get the chance to fly it and have store it in the attic for a long time.  Bobby remembered the new kite so we loaded it up and took it to the beach with us where kite flying is a snap!  Once the wind catches your kite, you’re good to go for the entire day.  We got the kite up as far as the string would go and tied it off next to our chairs to enjoy during our time on the beach.

Bobby Galveston Seagulls

Bobby decided to share the crust from his peanut butter and jelly sandwich with the birds.  I thought that was a mistake and didn’t want the birds leaving suprises on our towels and chairs but Bobby was in heaven with all the birds flocking around him.

Our July trip to the beach was definitely a lot of fun and time well spent.  Travis is already asking when we are going back.

How long has it been since you have visited a beach?
