Sleep

Children need a set amount of sleep each night to ensure they grow and develop properly. Without sleep, your child can feel exhausted and irritable throughout the day. This can lead to several behavioral problems and issues cropping up at school. Depending on the age of your child, they will need between nine and twelve hours of sleep each night. It can be incredibly difficult at times to get your children to sleep. Try your best not to give them any technology for around an hour before they go to bed. Encourage your children to read or read with your child before you tuck them in.

Diet

What is your child eating and what are their food preferences? It’s vital that your children aren’t overindulging on junk food. If they are eating lots of unhealthy food then this can lead to childhood obesity and other complications. Children should be enjoying a healthy balanced diet that consists of all the basic food groups. These include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, dairy, fruits, and vegetables. If your child is allergic to anything then you may worry that they aren’t getting the recommended amount of vitamins and nutrients. In order to ensure they are getting everything their body needs to function, you could give them a multivitamin each day.

Exercise

Is your child getting out of the house and running around much? A healthy diet and exercise go hand in hand with your child’s health and well-being. If your child likes their technology and spends a lot of time indoors then they are at risk of becoming a bit of a couch potato. Encourage your children to get outdoors as much as possible and enjoy the fresh air. Try and arrange playdates with your closest friends and their children. This gives your children other people to play with.

Doctors

Finally, your child’s immune system is building up its strength so you might find that they catch everything in the early days. It is important you sign them up with your family doctor to keep on top of their health. You might worry that your baby has a fever that is not being controlled with medication. What is baby fever and how high should it be before you whisk them off to the emergency room? A fever is classed as anything over 39 degrees, however, if your child is under three months then anything over 38 degrees is a concern.
