Meet My Dad!
Father’s Day is right around the corner and each year I find myself struggling to find the perfect Father’s Day Gift. My dad’s favorite gifts, which he looks forward to every year, are our homemade cards with hand drawn pictures inside. My dad has been designing these homemade cards for everyone for as long as I remember and he LOVES getting them as well.
Now for the actual gift that goes along with our famous handmade cards, that is another story! He isn’t a fan of silly gifts, he’s got all his favorite kitchen gadgets and he’s pretty particular about his tools so I try to find practical gifts that he’ll enjoy.
My dad is always on the move and his shoes could use a little revamping, so I’ve decided that instead of buying him a new pair of shoes that he probably won’t like, I’ll get him some shoe inserts to place inside his shoes. This way he can boost the support in his shoes and still “rock” his favorite kicks! I am a fan of supportive shoe inserts and have them in my walking shoes. They definitely improve my stability and reduce fatigue as well, so I know his feet will thank me. If you decide to go this route as well, you can use the simple water test to figure out what type of arch support you’ll need to order.
My dad lives in Kentucky and I am in Texas so unfortunately, I usually don’t get to visit him on Father’s Day so I like to send multiple gifts so he can receive multiple packages. For my second gift, I always like to send him memorable snacks, like the mini pecan pies that we always ate when I was younger or the special Yoohoo drinks in the glass bottle that we used to buy from the gas station when we were out and about.

For my third gift, Dad is getting a gift card to his favorite restaurant. He says that eating the same food over and over at the house gets old so he loves to have a good meal out. This way he gets out of the house, enjoys a good meal and is sure to meet a few people on the way.
If you are looking for a few more gift ideas, my dad also enjoys streaming services such as Paramount Plus, Netflix and Peacock. He is a huge fan of television and he thinks that everyone should own a voice activated remote control.
What kind of gifts does your Father like to receive? Does he like gag gifts, unique gifts or does he simply tell you what he’d like to receive?
